Inquest into the Death of Michael Fall Announced

Dr. Rick Mann, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, London Office, announced today that an inquest will be held into the death of Michael Fall.

Mr. Fall, 47, died on July 30, 2017, while in custody at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Fall's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths. .

Details regarding the date and location will be provided at a later date when the information becomes available. Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke will preside as inquest coroner and Gary Fowler will be counsel to the coroner.
