Inquest into the Death of David Pinkney Announced

Dr. Kenneth Peckham, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central West Office, announced today that an inquest will be held into the death of David Pinkney.

Mr. Pinkney, 31, died on February 6, 2017, from injuries sustained when he was caught between a conveyor belt and a drum at a mine in Severn. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Pinkney's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

Details regarding the date and location will be provided at a later date when the information becomes available. Dr. Mara Goldstein will preside as inquest coroner and Dennis Chronopoulos will be counsel to the coroner.
