Inquest into the Death of Saifullah Hanjra Announced

Dr. Kenneth Peckham, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central West Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Saifullah Hanjra.

Mr. Hanjra, 40, died in hospital on December 26, 2015, from injuries sustained while working at a construction site. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Hanjra's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

Details regarding the date and location will be provided at a later date when the information becomes available. Dr. Robert Boyko will preside as inquest coroner and Sarah Stackhouse will be counsel to the coroner.
