Inquest into the Death of Craig Blackett Announced

Dr. Bonnie Burke, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto East Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Craig Blackett.

Mr. Blackett, 41, died on May 27, 2016, from injuries sustained while working at a construction site. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.  

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Blackett's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

Details regarding the date and location will be provided at a later date when the information becomes available. Dr. Gautam Walia will preside as inquest coroner and Cheryl Blondell will be counsel to the coroner.
